Learn about Reiki hands-on healing and caring for those with a variety of disorders through touch. Become acquainted with the history of USUI Reiki healing and how to use this knowledge to care for others. This class will instruct students in the full treatment process to use for self and others giving a detailed treatment guide. Introduction to Chakras and their properties will be discussed in this class along with ways to surround or shield yourself with energy protection and methods to center and ground. This class includes Direct Touch Therapy. Direct Touch in combination with Acupressure can have added benefits. Level I works on the physical energy level.

Touch Therapy/USUI Reiki Practitioner Level II
(Prerequisite - you must have taken Touch Therapy/USUI Reiki level I in order to take this class. If you did not take it with WINM, you must bring a copy of your level I certificate with you.)
The level II activates the ability to send distance energy. Several methods of channeling the healing energy across the room, across the city, or across the world will be discussed. This level focuses on emotional and mental level healing and it considerably increases the energy that is channeled from level I. This class includes Direct Touch Therapy. Direct Touch in combination with Acupressure can have added benefits.

Touch Therapy/USUI Reiki Master/Teacher Level III
(Prerequisite - you must have taken USUI Reiki levels I and II in order to take this class. If you did not take them with WINM, you must bring a copy of your level I and level II certificates with you.)
This class gives the instruction necessary to become a Reiki Master and attune/teach others how to use this amazing healing energy; it increases the amount of energy being channeled from the two previous classes. This level deals with spiritual level energy and gives instruction on how to teach/attune others. This class includes Direct Touch Therapy. Direct Touch in combination with Acupressure can have added benefits.

Module 1 & 2: Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology. This level familiarizes the student with each system of the human physiology and introduces the world of medical terminology. This level will help the student understand the client's description of symptoms and understand physician's diagnosis.
Module 3: Pathology of Disease - Learn the holistic perspective of disease.
Module 4: Learn the importance of detoxification and various detoxification protocols.
Module 5: Aromatherapy - learn how to use essential oil safely.
Module 6 & 7: Herbal remedies for all the body systems.
Module 8 & 9: Principles of Nutrition - Learn the nutritional needs of the human body which includes macro and micro nutrients, enzymes and antioxidants.
Module 10: Carbohydrates & Fats - Learn the truth about the different types of fats and sugars and how they affect our body.
Module 11: Meal Planning Guidelines - Learn dietary planning for optimal health for both adults and children and healing for chronic ailments.
Module 12 & 13: Stress Management- Learn about visualization, meditation, guided imagery, energy work and aromatherapy for stress.
Module 14: The need for movement - Learn the best ways to incorporate movement to tone and strengthen the body at any age. Learn about the most optimum way to incorporate exercise in your daily life.
Module 15 & 16: Coaching Defined - Explains the keys to wellness, being centered, explains various coaching models. Individualizing wellness, lifestyle change, prescribe and treat, educate and implore advocate and inspire by using the four cornerstones of coaching.
Module 17 & 18: Wellness Coaching - Explains coaching people with health challenges, explains the foundation session, wellness assessment, co-creating a wellness plan, coaching for self-care and strategic lifestyle change.
Module 19 & 20: Coaching core competencies - Explains setting the foundation, establishing the coaching agreement, co-creating the relationship, communicating effectively, & facilitating learning and results.
Module 21: Herbal and Supplement interactions - Learn the safety of using supplements, herbs and essential oils with other medications.
Module 22: Business & Ethics - Learn the scope of your practice based on your profession and other certifications.
Module 23 & 24: Experiential Learning - Work with the instructor on how to work with a client. Submit 10 client cases.
Each module can be completed in 2 hours, not including the homework. There is homework for each module which serves as a review for the module.
The final exam is given upon completion of all modules. A study guide is provided to prepare the student for the final exam.

Is there homework?
Homework is assigned for each module. These assignments are designed to enhance the instruction and include readings in your books as well as reflective writing exercises. You can expect to spend approximately 1 hour to 2 hours per module on the homework assignments.
Is there an examination?
Yes, there is a proctored exam thru Adobeconnect. In order to complete the course, receive a certificate of completion and earn continuing education credits you must pass the examination with 80% of the answers correct. You may take the examination as many times as needed during the examination period in order to pass.
Are continuing education credits available?
Yes. Awarded credits will vary based on your current professional status.
What kind of official documentation will I receive at the completion of the training?
After completing the course you will receive several downloadable electronic certificates from the Washington Institute of Natural Medicine.
What is the cost of the course?
The total cost without books is $2,280. Each Module is $95.00 with a minimum purchase of 2 modules. Books are readily available from Amazon.com. Approximate cost is $250 to $350.
The Washington Institute teaches continuing education classes and a certificate program in Holistic Health in Maryland.
