Neural Release Therapy

Neural Release Therapy (NRT) is a technique that provides pain relief and aids in return of function and mobility. It is performed by licensed health care professionals such as Nurses, Doctors, Nursing Technicians, Personal Care Providers, and Massage Therapists. These professionals are instructed initially with their formal education and have added additional training in order to perform NRT. It originated with Dr. Huneke in the 1930’s during his consolidation of knowledge on the Autonomic Nervous System. This therapy works on the autonomic ganglia (nerve groups controlling internal organs), peripheral nerves (nerves controlling the extremities, such as arms and legs), scars, glands, acupressure points, trigger points, and segmental points (nerve points controlling segments of the body).

Neural Release Therapy applies pressure with fingers, hands, small metal devices, or wooden implements. Also magnets, ultrasound, or electro-stimulation can be used depending on the skills and qualifications of the practitioner.

The use of devices, implements, magnets and electro-dermal stim is not included in this class. This would be included in an advanced level. Ultrasound is included in this class.

As professionals holding advanced certifications where clinical methods may be applied, you become resourceful to the community you serve.
