Wellness Coaching Class Level 1
Starting Sunday 1/10/16
10:00 am to 4:00 pm
As requested by students.
We are proud to announce the redesigned and updated wellness coaching classes program. 
Many of the Classes can be taken Online on Demand or Live Online

 Become a Certified Wellness Coach
Wellness coaching requires a unique set of skills which this course will cover.
The student will learn how to work with the following individuals or groups:

Who want to make changes in their lifestyle to optimize their health and wellbeing.

 - Who wish to prevent or decrease their risk of disease.
 - Who may want to make better lifestyle choices in order to help them better    
    manage a health condition they already have.

A wellness coach needs to be sufficiently knowledgeable about evidence-based processes of lifestyle change and about lifestyle, wellness and positive psychological knowledge and skills.
Each level is $225, can be paid a week before each level. Levels can be taken in any order.

HHC Level 1: Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology
This level familiarizes the student with each system of the human physiology and introduces the world of medical terminology. This level will help the student understand the client's description of symptoms and understand physician's diagnosis.
HHC Level 2: Detoxification and Pathology of Disease
Learn the holistic or naturopathic perspective of disease. Learn the importance of detoxification and various detoxification protocols.
HHC Level 3 : Aromatherapy and Herbal Medicine
The student will learn how to use essential oils and herbal remedies safely.
Ailments of the Digestive system, Circulatory system and Respiratory system will be discussed.
HHC Level 4: Energy Medicine and Homeopathy
The student will learn how to use the electromagnetic power of the body, and how to use Homeopathic remedies for acute and chronic ailments. Ailments of the Nervous system, Reproductive system and Urinary system will be discussed.
HNC Level 2: Principles of Nutrition
Learn the nutritional needs of the human body which includes macro and micro nutrients, enzymes and antioxidants.
HNC Level 4: Carbohydrates & Fats
The student will learn the truth about the different types of fats and sugars and how they affect our body. 
HNC Level 5: Meal Planning Guidelines
The student will learn dietary planning for optimal health for both adults and children and healing for chronic ailments. Hand out recipes for clients to try.
WCC Level 1: Stress Management
The student will learn about visualization, meditation, guided imagery, energy work and aromatherapy for stress.
WCC Level 2: Sit Up and Move! This program features exercises performed from a seated position. Sitting enables those that are traditionally unable to participate in aerobic activity the stability and motivation to do so safely. We'll listen to some relaxing and invigorating music while we move and breathe. This program will require participants to wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel and water (optional hand weights). Open to all levels of fitness. We'll teach you 30 easy exercises to do at your desk, along with simple ways to customize your work space for maximum ergonomic design. Come prepared to stretch, bend, push and pull, twist and turn. All this program requires is a desk chair with wheels.
WCC Level 3: Coaching Defined
This course defines wellness coaching, explains the keys to wellness, being centered, explains various coaching models. Individualizing wellness, lifestyle change, prescribe and treat, educate and implore advocate and inspire, four cornerstones of coaching.
WCC Level 4: Wellness Coaching
This course explains coaching people with health challenges, explains the foundation session, wellness assessment, co-creating a wellness plan, coaching for self-care and strategic lifestyle change.

WCC Level 5: Coaching Core Competencies
This course explains setting the foundation, establishing the coaching agreement, co-creating the relationship, communicating effectively, & facilitating learning and results.

The Washington Institute teaches continuing education classes and a certificate program in Holistic Health/Naturopathy in Maryland.
The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) has reviewed the Washington Institute's classes and has determined that the Washington Institute of Natural Medicine can teach classes in Maryland.
